The web portal Sina.com is revaluing its contract with Google after the international search giant redirected its service to Hong Kong last Tuesday, a Sina PR manager said.
In its latest tussle with Beijing authorities, Google redirected its service to HK, effectively ending its search results filtering, as required by Chinese law.
The Sina PR manager said the company's international contracts are all based on its long-term business plan as well as their accordance with Chinese law, "which Google fails both obviously."
According to Xinhua, Google's Chinese contractors include Sina, China Mobile, China Union, PC manufacturer Lenovo, downloading server Xunlei and soft provider Kingsoft.
Former business partner Tom Online has already ended its affiliation with Google, citing "the expiration of their agreement".
