As the forerunner of China's sizzling hot economy, Guangzhou has the chance to meet the brunt of modern western art forms like rock music. The city was one of the earliest gathering places for rockers across the country. However, it didn't readily embrace rock, and many rockers left to head north. But Wang Lei stayed and attributed this song to the city.
