Wuyuan, a village in East China’s Jiangxi province, held the second Autumn Sun Cultural Festival on July 9. The date, which is June 6 according to the Chinese lunar calendar, is also part of the Double Sixth Festival.

Autumn sun represents a traditional custom in Chinese history and refers to the Autumn Sun lunar season. During the festival every family spreads out peppers in shallow baskets and puts them on balconies, roofs or windows to dry in the sun.

In Chinese tradition, it is a way of chasing bad things and bad luck out of the family and praying for prosperity and luck in the following year.

Named as "the most beautiful China symbol" by China’s Ministry of Culture, the village attracts many tourists and photographers who go to Wuyuan to enjoy the scenery during the festival.
