A series of historical pictures featuring Japanese Aggression and the Nanjing Massacre in 1937 has been unveiled to mark the 78th anniversary of the horrific past.

The photos are provided by Beibei District Archive in Chongqing, presenting historical scenes such as Japanese' celebration after occupation of Nanjing, meetings held to motivate militarism and worshipping the Yasukuni war shrine. Although the photos are not graphic, yet they reveal the inhuman and cruel period in human history.

Most of the documents are private collections and are on public display for the first time.

As China's military court ruled in 1946, more than 300,000 Chinese were killed during the six-week-long Nanjing Massacre conducted by Japanese army.
