Low-sugar mooncakesHotel listings

InterContinental Beijing Beichen is offering three, low-sugar mooncake gift boxes for families and friends to mark the coming Mid-autumn Festival. The Classic box at 168 yuan has four pieces with white lotus paste, egg yolk and green tea paste fillings.The Reunion box at 288 yuan has five cakes with fillings such as bird's nest, abalone, five nuts, jasmine tea, as well as strawberry and chestnut. The Premium box at 688 yuan has all that, plus spicy beef filling.

Nicely wrapped

Park Hyatt Beijing has introduced two mooncake gift boxes, one done in leather at 398 yuan per box, and another done in cloth at 298 yuan per box. Fillings include white lotus seed paste, egg yolk, green tea, jujube paste, and five kernels. The packaging is in traditional red with Beijing's traditional city images.

A variety of fillings

Doubletree by Hilton Beijing has prepared two mooncake gift boxes, one at 168 yuan and the other at 268 yuan per box. The 168 yuan box has traditional stuffing like jujube, black sesame, egg yolk with red lotus seed paste, besides two low-sugar choices: longjing and five kernels. Al fresco dining

Sureno, the Mediterranean style restaurant at The Opposite House, has introduced a new lunch menu for September and October. Enjoy the last two months of warm weather with al fresco dining and a live Latin jazz band at their sunken garden every Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday evenings, and at brunch on Sunday.

Alsace wine dinner

Jacques Cattin, owner of Domaine Joseph Cattin, will come to China World Hotel's Aria Restaurant on Aug 29 for a wine dinner. The Domaine is a prestigious Alsace wine producer in France. 498 yuan net per person.

A special promotion will be held at the Tamarind restaurant of Beijing Marriott Hotel Northeast. Enjoy a non-stop flow of succulent kebabs and appetizers finished with a dal and tandoori breads. Huaiyang cuisine is the flavor of the month this September at Li Palace inside the Radisson Plaza Xing Guo Hotel Shanghai.
