Med's new menu, with its emphasis on seafood, fresh produce and simplicity, was created by new chef Adrian Krause.

The Spanish Manchego Cheese and Spicy Figs Chutney (78 yuan), served on a delicious bed of rucola, was a nice delicately flavored start to the meal, and the Chilled Spicy Melon Soup with Mint (35 yuan), with its burst of fruity flavor followed by a spicy aftertaste, was perfect for a warm summer evening.

Another highlight was the Parpadelle alla Putanesca (56 yuan), thick pasta cooked with a simple yet flavor-packed tomato and olive sauce. For entrees, we loved the Oven Roasted Spring Chicken (185 yuan), an amazingly tender and beautifully presented dish.

Med's regulars need not fear, though—their famous Chocolate Lava Cake (68 yuan) is here to stay.
