Foreign Minister Wang Yi said on Wednesday that the China-Russia-US relationship in the new era should not be a seesaw game, and the three countries should work with each other rather than against each other.

He made the comment at a news conference during the two sessions.

"We should pursue win-win rather than zero-sum outcomes," Wang said, adding that he believes the three countries can develop a healthy and positive relationship so that they can jointly fulfill their responsibilities for world peace and development.

The foreign minister also said China has great confidence in the China-Russia relationship, which has stood the test of international vicissitudes and is strong as it has ever been.

"Our mutual trust has reached an historic high and the relationship will not be affected or weakened by any external factor," he said.

According to Wang, President Xi Jinping and his Russian counterpart, Vladimir Putin, will have multiple face-to-face meetings this year, and these will take bilateral ties to new heights.

"China and Russia will improve strategic coordination on international and regional issues and act as the stabilizer in an otherwise turbulent world," he said.

He also said China welcomes the improvements in Russia-US relations, which will be an important piece of good news for the world.
