More than 60 percent of respondents to a survey want the number of blue-sky days to be recorded as an achievement of local government performance, and as a specific measure to control haze, China Youth Daily reported on Tuesday.

The survey was carried out by the social investigation center of China Youth Daily, and 47.9 percent of respondents said they were dissatisfied with local government efforts to control pollution. In addition, 63.7 percent of respondents believe the connivance of local governments with those causing pollution is a major barrier to effective pollution governance because local governments give priority to GDP for their achievement record.

Also, 63.1 percent of respondents want the number of blue-sky days each year to be recorded as an achievement measure of local government performance.
