The most distinct feature of China's diplomacy last year was the enterprising and innovative spirit, Foreign Minister Wang Yi said.

China's role as major responsible country

China will give full play to the country's role as a major responsible country in 2014, Wang said. China's diplomatic policy will also better serve the country's domestic reform through creating a favorable international environment, Wang told a press conference on the sidelines of the annual parliamentary session.

FM maintains firm stance on Japan

Issues of history and territory are not matters that are open to compromise with Tokyo, China's foreign minister has said.
