HK grants 6m HKD for African drought victims

Hong Kong - The Hong Kong Special Administrative Region government has approved two grants of 6 million HK dollars to undertake relief projects for drought victims in Ethiopia and Kenya, according to a release by the city's Information Services Department Wednesday.

The release said each of the two grants from the Disaster Relief Fund is 3 million HK dollars.

To ensure the money will be used for the designated purposes, the relief agency has been asked to submit evaluation reports and audited accounts on the use of the grants after the relief projects have been completed. ($1 = 7.794 HK dollars)
