SHIJIAZHUANG - Six people are missing in a dormitory cave-in Thursday afternoon at an iron mine area in North China's Hebei province, local government sources said Saturday.

The cave-in occurred at about 4:00 pm Thursday when 11 people were in the dormitory of Jinxin iron ore dressing factory in Qianxi county in the city of Tangshan.

Fortunately, five people escaped. Rescue efforts for the six trapped people have been underway.

Constant heavy rains in the area caused the cave-in, according to an initial investigation.
