4.0-magnitude earthquake hits Qinghai

BEIJING - An earthquake measuring 4.0 on the Richter scale jolted the juncture of Yushu prefecture and Haixi prefecture in Northwest China's Qinghai province at 7:42 am. Beijing Time Wednesday, according to the China Earthquake Networks Center.

The epicenter, with a depth of 6 km, was initially determined to be at 35.8 degrees north latitude and 92.7 degrees east longitude.
