BEIJING - The Chinese Writers' Association (CWA) Thursday disclosed its 2011 budget and 2010 expenditures for overseas trips, receptions, and purchase and maintenance of official vehicles.
The CWA said its 2011 budget for the three items totaled about 5.62 million yuan ($871,000), according to a statement published by the association.
The statement shows that the 2011 budget includes 3.37 million yuan for overseas trips, nearly 1.7 million yuan for purchase and maintenance of official vehicles, and 550,000 yuan for receptions.
The CWA spent about 5.1 million yuan on the three consumptions in 2010, 500,000 yuan less than its 2010 budget due to reduction of the expenditure for overseas trips.
Chen Qirong, a spokesman with the CWA, told Xinhua that "We will continue practicing frugality and strictly restrict administrative expenses on the three public consumptions."
