China and the US have exchanged views and conducted effective coordination, Cui said at a news briefing ahead of Chinese President Hu Jintao's state visit to the US.

"China and the US worked together effectively at the climate talks in Cancun, Mexico, and I believe the trend will continue in the future," said Cui.

During President Hu's visit to the US from Jan 18 to 21, he will discuss major issues with his US counterpart Barack Obama, Cui said, but did not say whether climate issues would be on the agenda.
