The Hong Kong Sinfonietta will provide a rousing finale to Hong Kong Week at the Expo 2010 Shanghai on Oct 22 with its unique interpretation of A Soldier's Story. The crossover production features a combination of artistic talent from music, dance and drama. Igor Stravinsky's A Soldier's Tale is a story about a soldier trading his fiddle to the devil for a book of fortune. The Hong Kong Sinfonietta will present the music under the baton of conductor Yip Wing-sie, and choreographer Yuri Ng will transform the soldier into a modern white-collar worker in a contemporary setting. Four dancers, playing the soldier at different stages of his life, will perform with the orchestra. The performance will be narrated in Mandarin.
