The MeteoWorld Pavilion, dubbed the "Cloud Droplets," welcomed its 700,000th visitor on Sunday morning.

Zhou Ting from Suzhou, in the neighbouring Jiangsu Province, received a certificate and souvenirs featuring the pavilion's mascot as the lucky visitor. Zhou said she waited for more than one hour outside the pavilion.

She wrote after the tour, expressing her hope that more people would contribute to the protection of the environment and make the world a better place.

The pavilion, funded by the United Nations' World Meteorological Organisation, is covered with a white and transparent membrane structure to give visitors the feeling of walking in the clouds. People can see a rainbow when the angle of the sunshine is less than 42 degrees.

Exhibitions in the 2,000-square-meter pavilion literally allow a "Walk in the Clouds." Visitors can take a "space shuttle" into the sky, travel around the "Climate Change Gallery," enjoy the "Wonders above the Clouds," observe the "Global Climatologic Change," experience the innovations of the "Expo Meteorological Station," and envision intelligent weather services at the "Future House."
