Chen Huimin, a resident from the city's Baoshan District, received models of a Chinese jet fighter J-10 and the China Eastern plane carrying Expo 2010 logo. She was also invited to visit the AVIC Commercial Aircraft Engine Co Ltd, a domestic engine maker.

The Aviation Pavilion, shaped like a cloud, represents man's dream to fly. It also looks like the mathematic symbol of ∞, indicating the infinite development of aviation and infinite changes that flying can bring to cities. The white membrane covering the pavilion makes it easy for visitors to associate it with clouds and the ideas of flying.
