Multimedia Singapore

Until Aug 21, visitors to the Singapore Pavilion can look forward to a smorgasbord of colorful sights and sounds, reflecting the diversity of Singapore's multimedia scene.

The Singapore Media Showcase, presented by the Media Development Authority at Level 1 of the Singapore Pavilion, provides a multi-sensory media experience powered by technologies from Singapore's homegrown interactive digital media companies. Visitors will be able to experience a 3D downtown Singapore, through a stereoscopic 3D racing game, and enjoy the best of Singapore film, television and animation.

Symphony of innovation

The Piedmont regional exhibition at the Italian Pavilion promises to expose visitors to a blend of advanced technologies, stunning landscapes and rich culture. Entitled Piedmont Symphony, the exhibition will showcase the region's ability to set tradition and innovation, history and modernity, theory and practice, in perfect harmony. It runs until Aug 15.

Investment forum

The China Investment Forum held a Central and Eastern European Investment Day recently at the Expo Shanghai 2010. The forum sought to attract Chinese investment to Central and Eastern Europe. Pavilion participants included Lithuania, Hungary, Latvia, Poland, Bulgaria, Estonia, Czech Republic, Slovenia and Slovakia.

Travel the Yangtze

The Expo is promoting the Yangtze River Delta region. The Shanghai Municipal Tourism Administration has come up with a Yangtze River Delta Region Experience Trip, with a map based on the Expo 2010 Shanghai tour map. A total of 25 cities in the region are included in the trip. The travel route will help tourists in Shanghai plan trips to nearby cities.

Hungary voices

Silver prize winners at the Sixth World Choir Games, the Pcs Youth Choir from Hungary, performed at the Hungary Pavilion recently. The 48 members of the choir gave a wonderful performance in front of pavilion visitors. The Hungarian folk songs transported the audience to Central Europe. The young members also visited the China Pavilion after the performance.

Crab festival

A ceremony to announce the Fourth Crab Festival of Sanmen was held in Shanghai recently. The festival will be held in east Zhejiang province from Sept 25 to 27. It will focus on the promotion of regional cooperation and communications. A number of cultural activities will also be held, including a singing contest and a photography competition.
