Expo stands the test of heat and rain

By 7pm July 3, 391,200 visitors entered the Expo Site, 158,000 of them on tour groups.

A total of 47,043 tickets were sold on site, with 20,582 night admissions.

By 4pm, five medical stations in the site received 428 visitors.

Expo stands the test of heat and rain

 During these days, Expo organizers gave fans to visitors when temperature in the site exceeded 35 degrees centigrade. The Expo Visitor Service Center staff said that whether the organizers offer fans depends on weather forecast on the night before.

Houtan Gate received about 77,000 visitors, Changqing Road 71,000, and Shangnan Road joined Gaoke Road W. to receive about 105,000 visitors.

By 5pm, 65 shows were staged, attracting 39,400 spectators. A total of 8,139 volunteers served on the site.

The site is estimated to receive more than 130,000 group visitors today. Individual tourists are advised to enter from less crowded gates at Shangnan Road, Bansongyuan Road or Madang Road during 9am to 11am rush hours.

The Expo Boulevard is a facility integrating functions such as retail and dining. The 1000-meter long structure has two floors above ground and two below ground as well as has 20 dining outlets, 30 souvenir shops and many rest areas. It provides shelter for visitor against heat or rain.
