Rain didn't dampen visitors' enthusiasm as a total of 138,100 visitors had entered the Expo site by 7:30pm on the fair's ninth day.

Visitors remain keen despite rain

About 120,000 visitors entered the site between 9am and 12am yesterday.

Yesterday's operation was in good order, the organizers announced. About 25,000 tickets had been sold on site by 7pm on the day.

The most crowded gates were Shangnan Road, Gaoke Road W., Houtan, and Changqing Road. About 20,000 visitors passed through these entrances.

Yesterday, 171 pavilions were open and 71 performances were staged throughout the day. By 5pm, 30 performances had attracted nearly 43,000 spectators. Altogether 8,118 volunteers served on the site.

Five medical service sites inside the Expo site had received a total of 33 visitors by 4pm yesterday.
