Off-site medical team to offer aid to Expo visitors

With the approach of the World Expo 2010, more and more foreign tourists will come to Shanghai. According to official, it is expected to attract at least 70 million visitors, out of whom nearly 7 million are from Hong Kong, Macao, Taiwan and foreign tourists. Green Channel Rescue Alliance was established before the 2008 Olympic Games. Based on the success through Olympic Games, the Green Channel Rescue Alliance would once again launch the public-interest “Shanghai World Expo 2010 Off-site Medical Green Channel Rescue Alliance” services.

Shanghai World Expo 2010 Off-site Medical Green Channel Rescue Alliance, supervised by the China Hospital Association Emergency Aid Center (station) administrative committee, hosted by Shanghai Emergency Aid Center and Shanghai Pudong Emergency Aid Center, implemented by green emergency rescue alliance execution body Healthlink Technology (Beijing) Co., Ltd. , allied with emergency aid centers and network hospitals in 26 cities including Shanghai which located in Yangtze River Delta. Alliance will refer to and implementation of international medical insurance and emergency assistance services and procedures exert the advantages of emergency medical resources, offering the all-in-one seamless green channel medical services such as consulting, advanced disbursement, and assistance in insurance claim, in and out of the venue, to audiences from Hong Kong, Macao, Taiwan, and expatriates at the earliest time.

Alliance provides emergency medical protection service at 0:00 on the May 1, 2010 until 24:00 on December 31 (subject to the termination of the Expo). Expatriates only need to dial toll-free hotline: 4008185050 (7 /24) to access to consulting services and advance disbursement for medical expenses. 120 emergency centers are to be connected directly in terms of emergencies. 120 centers, the first-aid medical staff commissioned with ambulance, will be connected with Healthlink receptionist, and the English and Mandarin bilingual emergency aid is provided thereforth.

During the Expo, Healthlink provides English and Mandarin bilingual medical services with doctors who holds many years’ overseas work experiences, as well the Mandarin and English capable nurses who could serve the tourists and visitors bilingually. Service descriptions:

Day-to-day medical consultation services

1. bilingual healthcare consultation

Day-to-day medical consultation (including: acute disease, diseases caused by seasonal endemic, chronic diseases, accidental injury, etc.)

Interpretation and translation of medical reports or laboratory test, medication instructions, travel health guide, etc.

Bilingual capable doctors at call center would communicate with clients and accordingly offers medical advices to the emergency aid staff on site, such as information of past medical history of the clients, records for medicine allergies, blood type etc. Information.

2. Mandarin and English bilingual clinical guide

consulting services for general information and visitation advices in 1000 second class hospitals across the country.

The recommendations to designated hospitals during the Expo;

Suggestions on transportation from place of residence to the hospitals;

A guide for medical procedures and medical treatment;

Arrangements on accompany the client to visit clinics

Emergency Aid Services

Communications bilingually in Mandarin and English with patients in assistance to 120, and a 24 hour emergency aid coordination for the patients are available in order to avoid language barriers with expatriates tourists who are unfamiliar to the medical treatment procedures.

1. assistance in ordering emergency vehicles: Healthlink call center bilingual medical staff offering instructions on self-help and buddy- help before the emergency aid team’s arrival; assessing the patients’ condition of injury; three parties telephone communications, gathering information on the sickness and the patients’ real-time conditions from ambulance, reporting to doctors at emergency center before the ambulance reach the destination, which will save more precious time for rescue and emergency treatment.

2. to address the problem that the ambulances and the majority of hospitals decline the payment by credit cards and the expatriates’ insurance cards, Healtlink provides emergency aid service:

According to the insurance products and the various allowances for advance disbursement, with the approval by the clients’ insurance companies, Healthlink provides medical expenses advance disbursement services, and is accountable in collecting medical bills and the follow-up claim of insurance accordingly.

If the clients have not purchased the insurance products, or the insurance products being not applicable, in order to ensure timely treatment to the tourists, Healthlink may assist the tourists, with their approval, arrange for credit card pre-authorization for the medical bills, which allows for a later settlements of bills post to the treatment. This arrangement solved the problem of the urgent need for fund therefore the patients may receive a relieved , timely treatment.

3. Out-call doctors: Healthlink is capable of providing professional out-call doctor services across 37 cities in China with a wide range from acute and chronic diseases and day-to-day healthcare medical services. These services are available to those expatriates who are inconvenient to visit hospitals and who require house-visiting treatment (paid service).
