A: Since the first World Expo was held in London in 1851, the development of museums has been closely related to the World Expo. Vast collections featured in many world-renowned museums consist of architecture or artifacts that either made up, or were part of, an exhibit at a World's Fair.

The Victoria and Albert Museum (formally named the South Kensington Museum), was founded in 1852. The London museum now holds the largest decorative collection of art and design in the world, most of which was purchased from the 1851 expo.

Meanwhile the Museum of Science and Industry was designed for the 1893 Columbia Exposition in Chicago. The building remains one of the most famous pieces of architecture in Chicago today.
