Among the Chinese companies are big names such as Haier, GEELY International Corporation, Changhe, and Jiangling Motor Carrying (JMC).

Beijing North Star, Sayona Footwear and Shenzhen Sun Hot, Shanghai Yaming Lighting, Shanghai Jinling Intelligent Electric Meters, Liaoning MEC and MEHECO are also taking part in the week-long event which drew more than 400 firms from 58 countries.

Many of the Chinese companies have historical ties with Cuba, while others, such as JMC, entered the Cuban market in recent years.

Chinese companies are increasingly interested in the Cuban market as China has become the island nation's second-largest trade partner.
