Chinese students embark on Pakistan visit

BEIJING - A new chapter has been added in the all-weather Pakistan-China friendship when a group of prestigious university students and faculty members embarked on Friday on a visit to Pakistan to strengthen cooperative relations in the realm of education.

Welcoming the students and faculty members of Sichuan University, led by Vice President Professor Shi Jian at a reception hosted at Pakistan Embassy prior to their departure for Islamabad, Ambassador Khan said that both sides enjoy close friendship in all dimension.

"By this evening you will be in Islamabad," said Ambassador Khan, adding that it signifies "how close the two countries are with each other".

He said that all segments of society in Pakistan have great amount of love and affection for the Chinese people.

"They will welcome you from open heart," Khan said.

He said that a couple of days back, a 100-member youth delegation from Pakistan was here on the invitation of All China Youth Federation, on a visit that aimed to observe the progress China has achieved in all sphere of life in very short span of time.

"This is the land that made so much progress”, Khan said, adding that youths have greatly contributed in its development.

The Ambassador said that Pakistani people are keen to learn from China experience and proud of its neighbor's achievements.

"We desire to emulate your experience and want to be a part of this success," he said. 

Earlier, Ambassador Khan and Professor Jian in a separate meeting agreed to further enhance the number of exchange of students and faculty members delegations.

Shi Jian in his address said that the group is very excited to visit Pakistan, which would help them to know better about Pakistan, especially in the field of education.

The students and faculty members, will visit Islamabad, Lahore and Karachi and also communicate with their counterparts in various higher learning education institutions.

Professor and Executive Director and head of Pakistan Study Center at Sichuan University Chen Jidong also accompanied the delegation.
