A drug-affected man who held his sister-in-law at knifepoint on Yongle road in Wuxi, Jiangsu province, on Wednesday has been arrested by police. Police said the 35-year-old man, surnamed Hu, became paranoid after taking drugs at home on Tuesday night. His sister-in-law took Hu to a friend’s house after his parents became frightened. On Wednesday morning, Hu took the woman hostage because he falsely believed that his family had been killed. Officers were able to intervene and the woman was safely released. Police are investigating the incident.
