Liu Jianghui, head of Dangshan County House Property Administration, was under investigation for taking bribes by the county procuratorate, said Jia Ailing, head of the publicity department of the county committee of the Communist Party of China.

Liu's ex-wife and his 17-year-old son locked people out of Liu's office to protect safes containing cash, bank books and shopping cards for eight days during Spring Festival holidays, during which time they called the procuratorate, Jia said.

Liu's son also distributed letters on February 14 accusing Liu of corruption, taking bribes and visiting prostitutes, Jia said.
