Airbus delivers 78 aircraft to China in 2009

BEIJING: Airbus delivered 78 aircraft to Chinese carriers in 2009, accounting for 16 percent of its combined global deliveries, Airbus China said Tuesday.

The in-service Airbus fleet in China's mainland topped 537 as of December 2009, accounting for 41 percent of the total fleet of aircraft with more than 100 seats, said the firm.

The firm is optimistic about the air transport industry in 2010 given the gradual recovery of the world economy. Airbus is scheduled to deliver more than 100 new aircraft in 2010 to Chinese airlines.
