Mudslide buries 2 in high-speed rail tunnel project

A mudslide buried two workers and caused serious injuries to three others in a high-speed railway tunnel under construction in Yun'an County of Guangdong Province at 9 am Saturday, Nanfang Daily reported.

The accident happened when workers were measuring the water flow in the tunnel, which is part of a high speed railway project linking Guangzhou and Nanning. Mud spilled out over an area of 200 meters, according to an officer responsible for the project.

An ambulance reached the site Sunday morning, but the two buried workers still had not been found by press time.
