Veteran Chinese photographer Wang Wenlan has launched his photos portfolio on China Daily website (http://www.chinadaily.com.cn/photo/wangwenlan/).
The portfolio website includes his brief biography, latest photos, and comments on photos taken by foreign reporters or photography fans.
The platform also enables Wang to share his ideas and analysis about the hot topics in the photographic sector. "I am pleased to answer any question related to photography," said Wang.
In a reply to the competition of digital cameras over film camera, he said that there are always some photographers who will continue to be fascinated with film although it cannot take a big market.
One group of Wang’s most famous photos, entitled "The flowing ‘Great Wall’," depicts the intensive use of bicycles in the rapidly changing Chinese society, which nowadays have become less and less used amidst the economic growth.
Wang Wenlan first began to learn taking photographs in 1967. In 1980 he was transferred to China Daily, where he currently is the Director of Photography Department, senior reporter, and Deputy Chairman of China Photographers Association.
Wang had won many awards in the National News Photography Competition and the Best Photograph in China's News Award. And he was invited many times as a member of the evaluation committee for national, international and news photo exhibitions.
