The motorist surnamed Jin crashed his car into a barrier and veered into a tow truck early Thursday in Bao'an District, police said.

The truck hit a mini-bus as the driver tried to avoid the collision.

Three people in Jin's car died at the scene and another died on the way to the hospital. Jin was slightly injured, police said.
