Chinese consumers are upbeat about the year 2010 with thirty percent planning to buy apartments and cars, according to a report by Ipsos, a market research company in the UK, cited by the China Business News.

The report is based on a survey conducted in six big cities, Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou, Chengdu, Wuhan and Shenyang.

"Sixty percent of Chinese consumers expect the economy in 2010 to show good signs, an increase of 15 percent compared to 2009," said Zhou Xiaonong, managing director of Ipsos's China branch.

"Thirty percent of the consumers plan to buy residential apartments and cars, while fifty percent will increase expense on luxuries," Zhou added.
