Vice-president leaves for four-Asian-nation visit

BEIJING: Chinese Vice-President Xi Jinping left here Monday morning for an official visit to Japan, the Republic of Korea (ROK), Myanmar and Cambodia.

The visit will last to December 22, according to the Chinese Foreign Ministry.

Xi's entourage includes senior officials from the Foreign Ministry, the National Development and Reform Commission, the Ministry of Commerce, the Ministry of Culture, the Policy Research Office of the Communist Party of China Central Committee and the China Development Bank.

Xi is making the visit as guest of the governments of Japan, ROK and Cambodia, as well as Vice-Chairman of the State Peace and Development Council of Myanmar Maung Aye.
