Top of the 'Chinese Fortune 500'

Li Ka-shing, chairman of Cheung Kong Group, topped the "Huade" Cup public image list, with Shao Yifu, the chairman of HK Television Broadcasts Company coming second, the chinanews.cn reported Monday.

The survey, dubbed the "Chinese version of Fortune 500", was published for the first time on Monday. It was conducted around the Chinese mainland, Hong Kong and Taiwan.

500 Chinese entrepreneurs from 25 different backgrounds were ranked according to their ethics, business performances, company reputation, responsibility and company competiveness.

Those entrepreneurs who created their own innovative brands got higher rating. Lenovo president Liu Chuanzhi and Li Kaifu who left Google Inc. and founded his own Innovative Works are among the top five, the report said.

Other successful entrepreneurs in fields like technology, culture, filming as well as car making also made the list.
