Toll in Guangxi school bus accident rises to six

NANNING: Two adults and four children were killed after a school bus collided with a truck Monday in south China's Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, a local official said.

The accident happened in Tengxian County in the city of Wuzhou at 8:10 a.m. when a truck made a head-on collision with the school bus, said Liao Yibin, publicity officer with the government of Wuzhou.

Three onboard the bus were killed on the spot and three others died later on the way to a local hospital.

Among the dead were three boys and a girl, aged between three to five who were on their way to Yucai Kindergarten, the bus driver and a female teacher who accompanied the children to class.

Two other girls were injured and were under medical observation.

Police are investigating the cause of the accident.
