Taiwan woman arrested over human trafficking

BEIJING: Beijing police said Sunday they detained an alleged human trafficker from Taiwan as she attempted to leave the mainland from the Beijing Capital International Airport.

Taiwan woman arrested over human trafficking Police set sites on firearms trafficking

The 56-year-old female, detained by Beijing police Thursday, confessed to organizing an unspecified number of stowaways from the mainland to Europe since February, the Beijing Public Security Bureau said.

According to police, the woman confessed to making several thousand US dollars in profit from the trafficking activity.

Further investigation into the case is being carried out.
