"I have heard that you also visited China's northern port city of Tianjin," said Hu, "I believe your visit will further enhance Sino-Thai good neighborliness and substantial cooperation."

Abhisit said the Thai people paid high attention to his visit to China.

He was heading a large delegation, including government officials and business leaders, which he said embodied the firm determination of Thailand to further develop friendship.

Abhisit arrived in Beijing Wednesday for his first official visit to China since he took office last December.
