BEIJING: Thai Prime Minister Abhisit Vejjajiva arrived in Beijing Wednesday afternoon, on his first official visit to China since he took office last December.

During his four-day tour, Abhisit is to meet President Hu Jintao and hold talks with his host, Premier Wen Jiabao.

He will visit Tianjin, a port city near Beijing and Guangdong Province, the economic hub in south China.

Abhisit said before the visit that he hoped his China tour will boost Thai-Chinese ties and China's relations with the Association of Southeast Asian Nations.
