Thirteen missing after boat capsizes off east China

HANGZHOU -- Thirteen fishermen are missing after their boat capsized in the East China Sea Monday.

The 34.2-meter-long vessel capsized at about 4 am off Nantong City, Jiangsu Province, according to border patrol officers of Zhejiang Province, where the boat was registered.

All the crew were missing and five nearby fishing boats had begun a search. The maritime administration of Zhejiang had dispatched a rescue ship to the site.

The private boat had a cargo capacity of 159 tonnes, according to the administration.

Officials of the administration are investigating the accident.
