Chinese shares down 0.73% driven by weakened financials

BEIJING - Chinese stocks declined on Tuesday after gains for three consecutive days, led by weakened financials and airliners.

The benchmark Shanghai Composite Index, which covers both A and B shares, closed down 0.73 percent, or 27.51 points to 3,733.50 points on Tuesday.

The Shenzhen Component Index shed 1.14 percent to end at 13,702.56 points.

Aggregate turnover on the two bourses totaled 210.24 billion yuan (US$30.03 billion).
