A parrot that can speak English, Putonghua and Cantonese dialect has become a star attraction of Yinghao housing estate in Guangzhou's Haizhu district.

The white parrot, named Jixiang, can also play on a swing and perform other stunts, much to the pleasure of local residents.

The owner, surnamed Xu, has been raising the parrot for years and claims he has no idea where the bird acquired its language skills, saying he had never taught it.

Jixiang seems to revel in the attention and visibly perks up when surrounded by onlookers.

Xu said Jixiang's only shortcoming is that the bird is actually too talkative.
