A thief hoping to evade capture jumped onto the roof of a house in Hefei, Anhui Province, broke through the tile and landed on a bed in which a couple was sound asleep on Sunday.

The couple, who thought a stone had come through their roof, assumed they were caught in an earthquake.

When they saw it was a thief, they immediately called police.

The police are still investigating the case.
