A photo taken on November 4, 2007 shows the ancient stage of Jiaying Guild at Suzhou, East China's Jiangsu Province. The repair of Jiaying Guild has been finished recently and the guild was open to the public on November 3. Jiaying Guild was built by merchants of Jiaying (now Meizhou city), Guangdong Province in 1809 during the Qing Dynasty (1644-1911). Merchants gathered here celebrating festivals and appreciating operas in order to improve relationship with their countrymen. [newsphoto] |
