A group of Shaolin monks pushed their bus down an expressway after it broke down on Monday in Nanchang, Southeastern China's Jiangxi Province. They were trying to avoid being overcharged by a breakdown crew.

Traffic police spotted the monks pushing their vehicle and on enquiring were told they were on their way home to Dengfeng, Henan Province, from Fujian Province.

They said they had heard breakdown crews overcharged if vehicles broke down on the expressway, so they were pushing their bus to the next exit. The group of over 40 monks had pushed the bus about 5 km before police stopped them.
