Top business leaders meet

The 33rd China Daily CEO Roundtable breakfast on "Strategic Partnerships between Emerging Cities and Entrepreneurs: the Dalian Vision" will be held today during the World Economic Forum's Inaugural Annual Meeting of the New Champions.

The meeting in Dalian will provide an opportunity for delegates to share the views on the roles and strategic partnerships between emerging cities and entrepreneurs who will be new champions and stars of our time, Zhu Ling, editor-in-chief of China Daily, said.

More then 60 delegates from Fortune 500 companies and China's 100 companies will attend the event. The participants will include Xia Deren, mayor of Dalian; Ben Verwaayen, CEO of BT; M.P. Bakker, CEO of TNT NV; Vincent Lo, chairman and chief executive of Shui On Group; Wang Jianzhou, chairman of China Mobile and Yang Yuanqing, chairman of Lenovo Group Limited.

Peter Bowie, CEO China, Deloitte, will be a co-chairman of the event.

Participants will share their vision on how emerging cities and entrepreneurs can learn from each other, how policy helps growth of the private sector, and how they partner strategically to create long-term benefits for society.

"We warmly welcome the guests from world leading companies to come to Dalian and China Daily CEO Roundtable, which is a great high-level platform for business cooperation," Dalian Mayor Xia Deren said.

A total of 32 China Daily CEO roundtables have been held in Beijing, Shanghai, Ningbo and Hong Kong since April 2004, focusing on various strategic, China-specific issues. Over 1,200 government leaders and CEOs of global and Chinese companies have participated in these strategic dialogs.
