China appoints new ministers

Chinese Finance Minister Jin Renqing was removed from his post on Thursday by China's national legislature.

Xie Xuren, 59, director of the State Administration of Taxation, was appointed by the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress to replace 63-year-old Jin.

Meanwhile, Zhang Qingwei was named the minister in charge of the State Commission of Science, Technology and Industry for National Defense (COSTIND). Zhang Qingwei, replaced Zhang Yunchuan, who will take other post.

Yin Weimin was appointed as the Minister of Personnel to replace Zhang Bolin who was going to retire.

Ma Wen, 59, deputy secretary of the Central Commission for Discipline Inspection (CCDI) of the Communist Party of China (CPC), was appointed new supervision minister. Ma's predecessor Li Zhilun died of illness at the age of 65 during his tenure in this April.

Geng Huichang was appointed as the Minister of State Security, replacing Xu Yongyue.
