Head-on bus-truck crash kills 13

Thirteen people were killed and 39 hurt when a bus collided head-on with a truck in southwestern China on Tuesday, the Xinhua news agency reported.

The accident happened in the region of Guangxi, Xinhua said, quoting a local government official. It said that the bus was carrying 55 passengers, and that two of those hurt had sustained serious injuries.

Nearly 99,000 people were killed in 450,000 traffic accidents in China last year, state media has reported.
