Tourists
take pictures of the Fort Xipaotai relics of the Qing Dynasty-era cannon
battlement in Yingkou City, Northeast China's Liaoning province. Fort Xipaotai,
first constructed in 1882, was used as a military fortress against Japanese
invaders in the Sino-Japanese War, from 1894-95. The site has now become one of
the key cultural relics under the state-level protection.
