BEIJING - Chinese stock markets closed slightly lower on Thursday, with the benchmark Shanghai Composite Index closed down 0.12 percent, or 2.91 points, to close at 2,329.82.

The Shenzhen Component Index edged down 0.27 percent, or 25.73 points, to close at 9,580.52.
