BEIJING - Chinese stock markets closed mixed on Tuesday with the benchmark Shanghai Composite Index down 0.31 percent, or 7.32 points, to close at 2,325.91.

The Shenzhen Component Index rose 0.01 percent, or 0.86 points to close at 9,586.94.
