Great Wall Motor, one of China's model home-grown brands, has signed a strategic partnership agreement with leading worldwide automotive industry parts supplier BorgWarner. The signing ceremony was held at Great Wall's technology center.

"The Great Wall and BorgWarner partnership will begin in transfer cases, and will then move onto engines and transmission systems," Board Chairman for Great Wall Wei Jianjun said. "We value an alliance with a pioneer supplier such as BorgWarner." Mr. Wei emphasized the importance of auto part quality in Great Wall's products. "We hope that BorgWarner will apply [its] world-leading engine technology to Great Wall vehicles, [helping their] quality increase."

Similar aspirations were echoed by BorgWarner's Chairman of the Board and CEO Tim Manganello. Mr. Manganello expressed his admiration for Great Wall's rapid development, comparing it to his company's partnerships with Toyota in the 1960s and Hyundai in the 1980s. The two parties will bring state-of-the-art, advanced technological design to Great Wall's customers both in China and across the world.
